Fighting to make Wales ‘plastic free’

The World has recently been swept by a tide of campaigns to end the unyielding use of plastics in our society, and Wales has been no different. In his position as Shadow Secretary for the Environment and Sustainability, David Melding AM has spearheaded the Welsh Conservative calls for the Welsh Government to do more to tackle plastic pollution. The Welsh Conservatives have called for; a ban on the use of single-use plastics; the introduction of a bottle deposit return scheme in Wales; and a pledge from the Welsh Government to introduce target dates by which they will eliminate all avoidable plastic waste.

Welsh Conservatives are spearheading calls to ban single-use plastics across the National Assembly for Wales’ estate.


In a letter addressed to the Presiding Officer, David Melding AM – the Shadow Secretary for the Environment - has called on the Assembly Commission to:
