David currently chairs the Ministerial Advisory Group on Outcomes for Children.
For many years David has been Chair of Governors of Meadowbank Special School and Headlands School, Penarth. One of the jobs David did before entering politics was promoting the work of UNICEF in Wales.
The Welsh Conservatives are currently developing an Urban Strategy for Wales which will encompass a vision of greener and more environmentally friendly towns and cities.
Local business and enterprise is the backbone of the Welsh economy. As part of his outreach work within South Wales Central, David works with the businesses within the community to ensure that they have the support they need to create jobs and to keep providing that particular service.
For years David has been campaigning for a significant increase in house-building in Wales. There is a particular need for more family homes that are affordable to people in their 30's and 40's.
David has represented South Wales Central since the National Assembly (now Welsh Parliament) was created in 1999 and holds regular surgeries in the different areas of the region (Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Rhondda Cynon Taf).
